Re: exhaust riser ?

There's no "set" answer.
I don't flush-out my engine after each use, so I change elbows (aka risers) every 3 years, and manifolds after 6 years.

They can last as long as 20 years.10-15 is more the norm.It also depends on the salinity of the water.Things like flushing or draining will make a difference too.Draining will decrease the life.Flushing will make them last a bit longer.
Are they completely raw water cooled?A heat exchanger system is a big plus.It also helps with re-sale.J

It will depend on how much time you spend in the ocean, bay or Oyster Creek, but I estimate 6 years.....
The amount of salt in the water will change the number drastically.....
Flushing with fresh water will add a lot of life to them....
Amazing how many boats have standard cooling in NJ when there really is very little fresh water to run in......;)

If boating only in fresh water with raw water cooling, how long is the estimated life then? And what are the indications they need replaced?
