Exhaust flapper

I found an oval shaped rubber exhaust flapper laying on the ground behind my boat. I have been looking at parts breakdown to find out where it came from and have not be successful. Where does it go. 228 V-8 with gen I drive.

That isn't his system. He needs the antique 3 piece exhaust tube! I don't know where to download it from.

Be gentle with this, it's obsolete & may even already be worn out!

just google mercruiser exhaust flapper and youll see it theres only 2 kinds.

So they are in the Y pipe towards the top? So I guess there would 2 of them?

It's a definite engine out! Before you start, just check availablity on the exhaust system components! And another bit of advise, when loosening the rear motor mounts. Do it by hand (socket, extension & ratchet) NO IMPACTS.
