I have a 1992 Johnson 150 Silver Star motor. I have noticed when I hit the throttle, that the top of the motor moves backwards as if the transom is giving. I inspected the motor and transom and it is not the transom. I'm not quite sure of the terminology but the movement is coming from the (top of the spindle) pivot point between the mounting bracket and the motor. There is a plate where the steering cable connects. Further back where the motor connects to the mounting bracket, the top part seems to be damaged allowing it to move forward and backwards when the throttle is hit and let off.
Does anyone have any experience with this or know what the name of the parts are so I can begin my research. Thanks for the help in advance.
