Does anybody beside myself still used these classics? Have a 90hp and a 100hp. 100 needs rebuilt due to sinking from showing off by making my 15-ft Tri do a back-stand on take off. Stood the boat on end and sank it like a sharp-ended rock. Can't say I'm not STUPID, LOL.

Blue-Thunder

blue-thunder
Myself I don't have anything that new! Both of mine are from 1958, a 35 hp johnson and a 50 hp evinrude. Hope it has not set since it went under, verry important you get right on getting the water out of it!
Richard

Re: Evinude Electro-Shift

Oh Yes. Pulled the boat out the same day. Completely flushed entire engine. It still runs, but takes alot to get it started now. Did a Fiber-optic inspection of cylinder walls and they are now badly scorched from the water that got into it. Think a good complete over-haul would bring it back to life. Now have the 90hp SS on the boat with a much smaller prop, (Smiling). No more showing off unless it's something nice on the hook. LOL. Blue-Thunder

My "other boat" will be sporting a '63 40HP Evinrude with electric shift. Lets hope they don't stop making type "c" gear lube
