After sitting for prolonged periods, my fuel line and pump bulb fill with oil, which makes for extremely hard starting and lots of smoking?

Will a VRO pump from a E150EXECD interchange to a E120TCERC?

Hey lakebound...welcome to the iboats forums.

Don't think the pumps are interchangable. What ya' want to do is just get a new pump and install it. You will have the latest up to date pump and less worries than using a used pump, which is not a good idea.

New pumps are going for about $250 these days.

Good Luck.

Re: Evinrude VRO pump

Back then there were several different pumps and they varied by fuel fitting location and size, as well as internal differences between looper and crossflow motors.

For the last few years, the then OMC and now Bombardier make one universal pump with interchangable fittings. It is a lot stronger internally and comes with a full years parts and labor warranty.

Chances are there is a leaky oil outlet checkvalve inside the pump and it is not repairable. To minimize this leakage, you can use a paperclip to pierce the rubber pressure valve inside the oil tank cap. Insert the clip thru the center hole on the inside of the cap and you will feel it go thru the rubber. Now the tank will vent both ways and not build up pressure indide it causing the oil to flow thru the pump and into the fuel chamber.
