Re: Evinrude rebuild

Actually with the Wiseco pistons made since 2001 (31 series) the bore size is the same for cast or forged. We see the same issues with cast on tight bores. With todays fuel we see many less issues with the extra .0005 than tight bores. Many automotive shops feel the tighter the better. Not so in 2-stroke Marineland.

However, if you do have the older 3011P3 (uncoated) pistons youll want to take the finished bore size out at least another .0005 like Rodbolt says. And that would be considered almost tight.

the pistons are 3111P3 so I take it they will go straight in with no problems. I take on board what you siad earlier about breaking in. Thanks

Re: Evinrude rebuild

Can anyone tell me if a fuel pump: OMC part # 174619 will be suitable for my engine? BE60TLCO, I've spotted a brand new one for sale. The only difference as far as I can see is the new pump has an electrical connection whereas mine doesn't
Cheers all
