How can I determine the pitch on a prop?

There should be a number stamped into the prop hub - either between the blades or on the hub end (by nut/washer).

This dosn't always work i've got a prop on my 70 Johnson that dosn't have anything on it except (t44-309) now figure that one out, i know it's a 13" by measuring it but the pitch is ??????????

The only thing stamped on it is "R". I suspect for right handed turn on blades. I know most of them have dia + pitch stamped, but this one doesn't. Just wondering if there's a way to find out. Thanks,<br />Knob

knobby, any prop shop can tell you ... they have pitch gauges.
