3 months since last I used my 99 40HP evinrude 2 stroke and the powertilt wont move. I can heard the relays working. I need to get it fixed but because the tilt is stuck down I can't tow it as it's too low to the ground. Any way of releasing the tilt so as I can manually lift it? Many thanks

Welcome ASP!

There is a manual release on the unit. It'll have a slot for a screw driver. Kinda small, maybe 1/4" in diameter...maybe a little bigger. Turn it out a couple turns and you should be able to lift the engine manually. Look on the transom brackets....maybe marked manual release.

Re: Evinrude Power/Tilt

Can this be done in the water, will it release and oil fluid in to the water, or is it simply a release or pressure?
