evinrude parts interchange

hey guys, (gals) I have a 1986 28hp. evinrude, my nephew has a 1989 25hp., question, will most or some of the parts interchange?

Engine / powerhead parts will.-------You may find that exhaust housing and lower unit are completely different items.

blackwidow, some times you can do a search on your engine and see exploded views with part numbers. Such a site is boats dot net. Go there and type in your manufacture, year, model and you can see every part in both engines to determine if the parts will swap. I use that a lot myself. JMHO!
