evinrude motor?

I posted a topic earlier and the help was great but now I need to know how to find what kind of motor I have I dont know where to get the serial #s and theres no # on the mount but the cowl say its an 85 horse Evinrude any help would be greatful

Take a look on the engine block for a large silver plug. The model number and serial number should be there. Post the model number and we can tell you the year.

I areciate the help but this motor has been painted over and I dont see any silver plug I just got done looking theres #s on the cylinders and other places but I couldnt even see what could have been a plug. is there a certain spot for this plug or any other ideas i just want a manual so i can get it running thanks
