Evinrude flywheel threads and tilt trim

I bought a 70's bubble manifold 135hp evinrude. With a bad stator (ran pretty good but low voltage from stator caused weak spark and wouldn't keep the battery charged) After a few months of trying to get the flywheel off and breaking multiple pullers I finally got it off. The bad news is I had a puller break and smash the beginning of the threads. So there is a giant dent in the top of the threads making it impossible to accurately re thread. I have tried a thread file and have just had no luck.I thought about trying to cut and weld a nut around it and back it off but I don't know if that would even be possible.. After the first few threads its fine. I just dont know what to do. Is the right thing to do to go down to the next thread size or just buy a new crank and do a full rebuild. The current flywheel thread size is m22x1.75. I didnt know if a m20x1.5 would work if i could remove the current threads and re tap it. I'm just clueless, I also have another question. The motor came with a working tilt trim pump with frayed wiring. I bought a new pump and I just cannot get the motor gear to line up with the pump when I try to put it back together. Any help on either one of these problems would be great.
Thanks,
Ben

How far above the nut do the crank threads extend (if the nut were on)? If there are excess, take an angle grinder and grind the damaged end off the shaft. And I agree, they are not metric. Unless something crazy is going on. Was the motor made in USA?

The threads were in fact metric. I was able to take it to a machine shop and get a nut backed off to clean up the threads. Not sure what happened that caused someone to retread it to metric but I was able to get it back together. I currently have a calco tilt trim that is on its last legs. Anyone know of a semi cheap(under $500) Replacement pump assembly/motor?
Thanks,
Ben
