From the owners manual: CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT

"If either the high or low speed adjusting knob should come loose on the needle, remove the knob screw and knob. Turn the needle into closed position: then turn it back (counterclockwise) 3/4 turn. Place knob on the needle with indicator on the knob pointing straight up, and tighten knob screw securely."

Now the low speed needle is able to be turned several rotations, but, I did follow the owners manual. The high speed needle is different. I turned it all the way clockwise to the stop and it only turned back 3/4 of turn counterclockwise to the other stop, so if I leave it like that, it would seem to indicate that when adjusting it would need to be turned clockwise, which I am thinking would be leaner? Thoughts and info please?!

Clockwise (turning in) is lean, counter clockwise (turning out ) is rich. Those settings are a static settings, you need to fine the adjustments with engine running, low speed to achieve best idle, in gear, high speed with engine running WOT and in gear. You can adjust low speed in the barrel, but high speed with the boat on the water.

I was planning on takin' her out today, adjust the needles and maybe do a little fishing, but, noooooo, very windy with gusts past 30 miles per hour. Hot too.
