Evinrude 90HP Compression Test?

Hey All, I am new to the fourm.....I am looking at a 1997 90HP for my fishing boat...The guy selling me the motor said the compression was 100-97-105-105 My question is is this good or bad? Any thoughts and comments would be great..Thanks,Alan

Could be a bit higher numbers ,say 110 -115,but then I don't have any way of knowing the accuracy of the guage or whether the rings are carboned up a bit.On the upside,the numbers are all within 10%,and that is a good thing.If you get it,make sure it's propped to turn 5500-5800 wide open throttle with an average load aboard.

That might be better than it sounds. What is your elevation?

Elevation is 2230'
