Evinrude 88 SPL is killing me

I started the motor, idled and engaged the forward gear, idled out to deeper water and tried to increase throttle speed and nothing. Motor will not increase speed. I have neutral and reverse but not forward other than idle. I am frustrated because I just spent 600.00 having the motor worked on over the winter. Ran the boat 2 days ago and ran like a champ, today more like a chump. Please help.

A little more info:
Does it even rev up?
Does the throttle go forward, or is it stuck?

Pull the hood and advance the throttle to wide open while watching the linkage. Does it open up the carbs? There is a cam that pushes a roller to open the carbs, if roller is loose on its adjustable base it might not allow carbs to open. Sounds like linkage or cable problem.

well you have 2 cables, shift cable and throttle cable, sounds like shift is working. problem with throttle cable, or linkage. i would really be nice to have all the details.

well you have 2 cables, shift cable and throttle cable, sounds like shift is working. problem with throttle cable, or linkage. i would really be nice to have all the details.

Not sure what to do from here.Sorry for not responding soon and I greatly appreciate the help. I checked the carb and the floats are not opening, if feels like the remote control throttle is not going forward all the way. I pulled the remote unit apart but am not sure what to look for. The motor revs in reverse but idles in forward.

Sounds like a cable adjustment maybe ??
