I have an old Evinrude 50HP - I dont have much details on it but its old and I would guesstimate late 70's
anyhow, last week my boat sunk (cracked hull) and was submerged for a few days and didnt start afterwards
I started to diagnose and found the ignition switch had corroded so I replaced the ignition switch - it now cranks but it has no spark
I changed the power module & both coils but still no spark
I removed the "flywheel" and dont see anything abnormal
not sure where to go next
does anyone have a troubleshooting guide? or better yet, a copy of a manual? I dont really want to spend $40 for a manual that might not even be the right one... + I would like to get back on the lake fishing with my kids!
