Evinrude 1994-4hp<br />Model E4RERE<br />SSN B09045911<br /><br />After replacing the entire water pump everything checked-out fine with the tank test. Ample water flow. After 5-10 min under load, water flow abruptly stops. Let sit over night--started engine--again, ample water flow, ran 5-10 min then flow abrutly stops-tore everything down again--thought maybe the key had come out of the impellor--key in place, everything looks fine. Also removed the exhaust plate cover to check for any debris--everything look fine. Copper supply line from water pump is clean as a whistle.<br /><br />What are your thoughts?

Bruce, Welcome to iboats!<br /><br />Ok, here's a long shot. Remove plugs, what's the color of the firing ends? Are they basically the same color? I'm guessing that you may have a head gasket leak that pressurizes the water jacket and stops the water flow after she heats up. The solution is to remove the head and have a look. Check the water deflector when you have the head off too.
