Hi Clanton,<br /><br />First, many thanks for the advice you gave me earlier concerning the heavy smoke the motor made: as you proposed, I put some clear hose after the fuel pumps, between the fuel pumps and before the fuel pumps ---> lot of air bubbles going thru all of the hoses. The reason for the air leak was in the fuel tank, i.e. leaking (male) connector in the tank. I have two tanks, an original and a cheap spare one. In the begining, the motor was making lots of smoke with both tanks. However, I noticed that the female connector at the lower end of the fuel hose between the tank and the motor was bad and I replaced it. Didn't fix the problem, so I thought that the oil pump must be broken. Unfortunately, after replacing the connector, the motor was tested only with the spare tank, which had also an leaking male connector!!! At the repair shop, they thought that by chancing the oil pump they fixed the problem, but actually, at the same time, they had started to use the original tank which was not leaking anymore, since I had just changed a new female connector. Anyhow, without your advice I wouldn't have thought that an airleak can cause lots of smoke. Thanks again!<br /><br />To get back to the fuel pumps...<br />Yes, the year is 1998 or 1999 (haven't checked it yet), and it has two fuel pumps. The thing which may be confusing is just my bad english. By nozzle I mean those tube-like extensions the fuel hoses are attached to. There are three of them at each pump: inlet,outlet and crankcase. I was wondering whether, for instance, the nozzle in the round cover in the front of each pump is for incoming or outgoing fuel. The reason for this, is that at the shop they claimed that hoses between the pumps were incorrectly connected. And that is kind of hard to believe, since A) they had tested the motor earlier with no problems (except the smoke) B) the hoses were exactly the same way they have allways been. Now, I just want to check that after repairing the hoses really are OK. <br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Pasi
