Evinrude 25HP?

I recently got an Evinrude 25HP outboard motor but cannot find out the year model by the model number. I have tried several different sites for deciphering the code but none look like mine. It is E0214810 and the serial number is E2 RCTE. Any ideas?

Scott, that second # u have listed looks more like a model#

I think that you are just missing the 5 in the model number E25RCTE of a 1983 model:

Did you find those numbers on the transom bracket plate or the welch plug on the engine block?

You were right, the 5 wasn't as prominent as the rest of the letters and numbers so I didn't see it. My original post was from the transom plate but I checked the plug on the motor and it showed E25RCTE. Thanks for all the help.
