how would you tighten the screws up on the housing samo?

I was thinking gear housing but you're right, the water pump housing couldn't be tightened up.

I agree with samo. The driveshaft can/must come out to do the job properly. If the upside down, PB blaster soak hasn't worked, I kind of like the vice grip idea mentioned above, or maybe a strap whench could be used to grab the driveshaft tightly enough to free it :/ ? I wonder why it's so stuck, though? If it's due to rust doesn't that mean there are probably bigger issues at play (water in/near the cylinders, etc....) ? Perhaps it's a frankenstein motor, with the drive shaft from a different model jammed into the power head, or something? Just guessing though. Hmmmmmm.....

It's most likely missing the drive shaft o-ring, which is supposed to keep the water out. The drive shaft splines are probably rusted in the power head. Good luck.

Do a google of Kroil lubricant,I have never used or mixed anything that works better for freeing ANYTHING rusted,bined together.

guys i just cant get the shaft out the powerhead ive tried like everything..

Is the powerhead still attached to the exhaust housing? If you have tried lubricant and vice grips and hammer and it hasn't worked that's not good. I would now remove the powerhead from the exhaust housing with the driveshaft attached to work at it closer and easier. Not sure what else to try as if you try heat you could mess up the lower seal. But if nothing else works you might have to. A guess a machine shop is also an option. Maybe someone else has more options?

Gotta love it when some guy tries to save like 5 cents and skips replacing the o ring. Always replace, not reuse, the oring and re grease the splines.

Did you try the 50/50 mix of acetone and atf? Could you post a couple pics of what you are dealing with here?

Havent tried the mix a i dont think we have the stuff in the UK. Have sprayed with gt-85 and vikin chemicals or something or other.

RESULT! Just been out there, put the vice grips back on, bit of wood on them and got a mallet...wacked for about 5 minutes then it came out! Thanks for all the help guys!

I've also gotten the d/s out by putting a visegrip pliers on the d/s and hanging it upside with a chain and letting it set for a few days. Have it about 8" above the floor with a boat cushion below it. At the same time keep putting your 50-50 mix of acetone and atf down the d/s. Every once in the while go and give the p/h a few wraps in the downward position
