I am trying to find out when Evinrude stopped making the 175hp V6 engine.

2008 was the last year, so far, for a 175 V6.

Thanks for the response. I don't mean one of the new E-TEC engines...I'm asking about the old, is it 60 degree configuration, carburated motors. My local mechanic says it 's 1990.

The last 90* 175 crossflow (like that one) was 1991. All carb'd. The 60* 175 carb'd looper was made from 1991 to 2006 (I believe).
