Evinrude 175 Tachometer wiring

I have a 1982 Evinrude 175 V6. It was installed on my Hydrostream last year -- the tach is not yet connected properly(the tach is for Evinrude). I have little experience in boat wiring -- and the Seloc Outboards Manual I purchased doesnt cover Tach wiring. Any hints? Anyone?<br /><br />I'm trying to figure out the right prop for skiing, and need the tach working to determine RPMs at WOT etc.

The gray wire will go to the yellow and red wire (nr. 2 or 3) on the terminal strip.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
