I have a problem with this motor, when I put it in the water it always starts up fine. However after running it and then stopping it will not start up again. I have been trying to pinpoint the problem, and this week-end I believe I have detertmine the cause. On the throtle arm there is a small swithch that engages when moved to 'start' I pulled the wire off this switch, grounded it, and what you know it turned over and started. There appears to be a fine adjustment on this switch I tried moving the switch forward, but it would move enough to engage. Is my problem with this switch and all I should have to do is replace it?

You are saying at first that the engine will not start, then later you're speaking of the electric starter solenoid ground safety switch.

There is a difference between "won't start" and "won't crank over". I believe that you are actually having a problem with the electric starter cranking the engine over.... but when it does, the engine starts and runs.

If this is the case, and you can't adjust anything to have the switch/circuit engage, it may require replacing.
