To only have the seller take it!

Back to the topic.

It is great to get something you actually need or want at a great deal. Sometimes right time, right place does help. The key component of this is you asked.

Years ago I learned it never hurts to ask.

Bought a company through a bankruptcy court, bought the contracts a few weeks later. One of the contracts was worth 400K. The client had already paid in advance for some custom material needed for the work, but the old company had never purchased it and the money was gone. Being extremely underfunded I devised a plan to complete the contract. I called the client, explained the situation and asked them to pay for material once more.

I was very pleased to find at the end of the discussion they agreed and the next day an overnight envelope arrived with a $40K check that enabled the new company to complete the contract.

I ask for many things when the time is right. Searching for boat parts on xbay is one place where I ask a lot. I have received many great deals for parts that someday will be put to use in my Lone Star project. When the time is right I will get back to it.

It never hurts to ask, they worst that can happen is they so no.

Sometimes I will see something that interests me but I really don't need. Those are usually the times I lowball the most. Sometimes they accept. I have never tried the best offer option on ebay. Maybe next time I see it I will.

Well I am thrilled, the new synthetic stock was delivered today, took all of about 5 minutes to put on and now it looks like I have a new modern gun, painless purchase, painless install, look great on a 40 year old gun. I think I am going to take a look around and see what the Ruger Mini 14 is going for, it would be really nice to have one of those as well!

MT are you looking to buy a Ruger Mini 14? I own one and it shoots really well. I also have a Ruger Mini 30. Those are harder to find. They shoot 7.62 x 39 ammo (SKS and AK47 rounds). I have never even loaded a round in the Mini30. Another really interesting and extremely hard to find (at a decent price) is the old Ruger 44 Mag Autoloader. I have one of those as well. If you can't see the muzzle, you near about can't tell the difference between the Ruger 44 mag Autoloader apart from the Ruger 10/22. They look that much alike. ::D

GM, I have an auto .44 sweet little gun, I remember the day, I had one of the 10/22 and the .44 laying next to each other on the shooting table and my nephew grabbed one to take a couple of shots, he was a bit surprised that he grabbed the .44 and it had just a small bit more recoil!

I am familiar with both the 14 and the 30 and have shot both of them in the past, but I think I would like to have a 14 it would be fun to play with.
