evenrude 40hp vro outboard

Trying to find a repair/service manual for this outboard. Having problems with it. Have owners manual but it is not very helpful. Do not know the year.

whats the model number off the transom mount? if not there look on the engine block for a quarter size silver disc, with number on it.
