I went to Petoskey MI last saturday for what was called a tower hunt. What a kick. I went through 6 boxes of 12g shells in about 3 hours. I would encourage anyone who has a chance to do one to give it shot. I still prefer a walking hunt with smaller groups and a flushing dog, but what a different experience. I got a sore shoulder but had a blast.

Pointer, did you go to Petoskey or just north of it to Alanson, I've lived here most of my life, the weird thing is my son works for a trucking firm in Janesville. Where you at Buck Trail Ranch?

Yep thats where we went. Buck Trail Ranch. Heck they had wild pigs roaming around and big horn sheep and bison and all sorts of exotic game. We rented a cottage for 9 of us on the property the night before for 20 bucks a head. dirt cheap. Not fancy but very clean and well stocked for all of us.

The guys who run that place are great. I walked in and I had never been there before, knew who I was (I don't know how) and shot the breeze for twenty minutes and really made me feel at home.

Great time.

That would be great. One of my largest customers is in Lake City and I travel into that northern area occasionally. I will give you a heads up on the board when I get back around. I try to plan my trips 2-3 weeks in advance. :)

Where does your son work in Janesville?

Pointer - yes. When I was stationed in Germany we used towers to hunt. We had the Forestmeister sit in the tower with us and he would select what animal you could shoot.
