i recently picked up an eska model 643-20B serial 7159449. i am trying to find more info on this motor, so i can service it. any ideas where to start?

Yep---start with the actual Eska model #---should be on a plate between the transom clamps. The # you gave is the Tecumseh engine identification.

Once you find the Eska model # consult the identification tables at this site:
