i have been doing research on different kinds of epoxy resin. (or opening a can of worms). it seems like all companies have their own mixtures and other advantages or hidden surprises.
this is where i have been looking at different places.

http://www.oneoceankayaks.com/Resource.htm

so far i have narrowed it down to either
1. us composites for all in one shopping
2. epoxyproducts.com (not on resource website)for better info on there site and colder temp epoxy.

any other suggestions (i would like cheapest and best, but will pay a little more for a better product, you get what you pay for.)

please help need to order soon and all i am doing is confusing myself.

the closer you get to a 1 to 1 ratio mix the better..

it's just better epoxy.. more soilds & does not amine blush ( wax up ) when cured..

wax ( amine blush ) is not desirable for alot of reasons ..especially for appling subsequance coats..as for the wax has to be removed..

plus it's just easier to mix 1 to 1 .. an is worth it if'n only for that..!!

the only 1 to 1 mix i ever found was thru

clark craft ..

i have used gobs of gallons of that stuff an like it.. good price too..

it only comes one temp.. good 20 mins pot life at 90 deg f.. need longer time when hot.. store it inside a/c or a cooler..

one good thing about this product .. it's never cloudy .. always cure clear.. an it's never brittle..

on my wooden boats.. if'n i go over a rock or log or somethin',,it never scuffs/cracks/ruptures.. it just indents with the wood indentations of he obsticle..

Re: epoxy resin brands

I just used a 1:1 mix 2 weeks ago but I don't recall the brand name. I'll check it out and let you know. It worked real well and easy to mix.
