I have a 90hp 2stroke 3cylinder 1991 mariner outboard that I am having trouble getting started. During the summer and warmer months the engine would start but it would take a lot of turning over before it would fire up. As soon as the weather got cold the engine wouldnt start. I know that the enrichener/choke is worked by pushing in the ignition key in while the ignition is in the on position, and that I should hear a click when the enrichener/choke comes on. There is no click when the key is pushed in so Im wondering if I have a faulty enrichener valve? I know that the reason the engine wont start could be a number of things so I have got a new battery, tried a differnet fuel tank and lines with fresh fuel, there is a good spark on all the plugs. I have tried pushing in the button on the botton of the enrichener valve and still no joy.
So could it be the enrichener valve????
Thanks for reading.
