I am looking at either a 1999 242 or 258. They are in great condition but the engine on them is a volvo 5.0 Gi DP 250hp. I live on the east coast of FL. Is that enough power?
I don't think so. A boat that size would be better with a 5.7, even if the HP rating is the same. Only way to know for sure is to test drive them though. Bring family/friends to load the boat down so you can see how well it works with a heavy load.
