Recently had my starter fixed..installed new battery. Boat runs great and smooth now...will not shut off by turning key. Wiring is all the same nothing different. Any suggestion

Usually, I would say a Key Switch issue, but not knowing the History of what has been done to that Boat's/Engine's Electrical, it might be several things

It's a ford 302...it's wired the same as it was. Could a bad interupt switch cause this because mine isn't in very good shape.

Disconnect the purple/yellow wire or the one marked “I” on the solenoid and check if the engine continues to run. Sometimes the small ignition “bypass” wire inside the solenoid will break and continue to feed the ignition circuit.

Did ya happen to swap the Starter and Battery leads on the solenoid, or even the smaller Tan wire ?

I have 2 wires with power at ignition switch...it's a 3 wire

So its back feeding as Kenny mentioned, or might be from the key
I have 2 different wiring diagrams and one shows the yellow on the side with the Bat Positive lead, and another which shows the Tan

You have Yel on start and Grn on Ignition
Remove the Yel on the key switch and see if wire remains hot, or could take it off the solenoid

No it is not hot...the tan is full volts on the I terminal that goes to coil

With full volts it has to be the solenoid has gone bad like Kenny mentioned
T prove, remove the Tan and see if its still on wire or just the post

The Ah Ha moment. New solenoid but terminals are different.
Swap the Bat and Starter cables

The Ignition and Starter are and "should be" connected together. This way when the solenoid energizes the starter it also supplies full volts to the coil for starting. When key is released power is removed.

I've got nothing then, just know how it should work

You removed the Tan wire (yours is Green) and have 12V on the post, not the wire. That wire feeds power direct to the coil and back to the key

Maybe the new solenoid is bad, or its wired internally different
