iBoats lists the weight of a 1974 Chrysler 135hp at 253lbs. Does that sound right? The model number is 1357HA.

So far the 2 stroke Evinrude's and Mercury's in the same HP are listed at around 350lbs. That's a big difference.

Hmm, I was checking Evinrude's and Mercury's from the 80's and 90's. I guess the older units are lighter. That should translate to better performance on the water and less stress on the transom. I like my 1974 135hp Chrysler. It's just like a lot of guys say, they are simple and just run with a little maintenance. To bad people charge so much for the parts but I guess I understand. That just makes me look for alternatives and that's a good thing cuz often the parts are available at the local auto parts store. :)
