Whold it b simpler to repower with a 351W of same vintage The351 is a taller block would everything still line up,ie gimble-input shaft motor coupler, thanks

Ayuh,... I believe so, but I ain't a Ford kinda guy....

I believe the height is made up for in the rubber couplers in the exhaust,...
Not sure though...

I would say yes
Exhaust manifolds should transfer
Thermostat housing should transfer
The 351w has a taller deck and a wider intake manifold than the 289/302 - 351 intake needed
Measuring across the 289/302 I find it to be roughly 9.25" the 351 i believe is 11.25 in. between the cylinder heads at the deck
Also the oil pump drive shaft is 5/16" on the 289/302, whereas the 351w is 3/8". - need 351 marine distributor

Since you have a flywheel, bellhousing, starter that work together now, they should transfer onto the 351

Head bolts on the 289/302 block are 7/16", whereas the 351w has 1/2" head bolts.< just point of interest

Hope this helps and good luck
