The scanner shows readings from the sensors. The codes are also read by the scanner if there are any on another screen. If there are none, then I would think about having the ECM tested.

Code 0342 - Camshaft sensor lost. Motor will not run with this fault

Code 0643 - 5V high. This is set when 5V reference is above 5.4V. I'm not seeing in the print out where it list above 5V, but if a sensor is failing it can cause the 5V level an issue. If 5V level is out of tolerance the motor has issues with all sensors

Code 0652 - 5V low. This is set when 5V in secondary Reference is below 3V

Code 1611 - Both 5V Ref out or range

Code 2618 - Tach output grounded. The ECM gets info from the Crankshaft position sensor (CPS). The signal is then sent by the ECM to the Tach. Can try disconnecting the Tach to see if it helps, but right now don't think this is the issue

Code 1642 - Buzzer/Alarm open. The alarm horn is not connected

Code 0117 - ETC low. This is another issue most likely caused by the 5V circuit.

I'm thinking its the 5V circuit that is causing some others. One of the sensors could be causing the issue. Run these checks

Dear alldodge, I am really appreciate and thankful for your help. My technician is so sad caused this issue. My understanding is we will run above check first. He checked all sensors one by one. Says all looks good.

The 5V line is critical. Any one sensor which draws to much current can cause an issue with the others

It might be a simple as a loose or unconnected ground wire on the harness. One small ground wire not making a good connection can cause other sensor issues

We have removed the complete wiring harness, tested continuity from all sensor plugs to ECU as well as all wires from main Relay/Fuse box to all positive and negative wires.
Have changed out all sensors on the motor. But we still have the same problem.
Could you please recommend to us who we can send the ECU to test and see what they can find.

Hi, I am writing from Qatar. My engine is inboard Volvo penta 5.0 OSi-F in my boat. We changed long block with new one last September 2020. Engine was working properly until beginning of March 21. Now Engine is starting at first attempt but dies in seconds. My technician checked all sensors, relays, harness and petrol pump. All is fine. If we add petrol directly Engine works well until we stopped fueling directly. We are thinking some thing tells to pump or Engine stop. But big question is what? Your support highly appreciated.
Check fuel filters and condition of the fuel in the fuel tank

Send it to Bob at OBD Diagnostics. Give him a call before you send

Good morning. We have talked to OBD diagnostics. They said can not do anything to this device as they announced in their Web site. Do you have other idea.? We are worry that if we buy new one and replace it something can damage the new ECU.

I’d be very careful adding gas into an mpi. Your almost making a bomb there.
