engine size ??

not a HP question. lets say you buy a boat thats rated 150 hp ... how do you know what size motor you need ?? i mean the length or how tall it is ? i hope this makes sense.

A 150 is most likely going to be a long shaft motor . I dont think I have ever seen one that big in a short shaft.

i was just saying 150 in general .. but what about a lesser hp motor that is available in long and short .. how do you know which one ?

more specifically ... a starcraft ss would be a long shaft ???

you can get pretty much any size motor (HP) in short or long. And then again you can or could just use a jack plate then you can mount a motor on and set the jack plate for the transom height. Maybe this will help ya.
