Can I use the v belts with the plastic cover? Or should I use the serpentine set up but I have a belt driven raw water pump

You may have to use all the pullys and such . May even have to create some spacers but it should work.
If I can put a Bravo raw water pump on a Volvo gm v8 you should be able to do the belts

Why would you want to get rid of the serpentine system? It's way better than vee belts. And much easier to just change the raw water pump to a 6 groove pulley... One pulley instead of 4, and the associated headaches...

I guess my only concern is adding the "Bravo" raw water pump.

Pull the Vee belt pulley off it and put a 6 groove (serpentine) pulley on. Have a look at Dayco website, they have DOZENS of pulleys, I'm sure they probably make the one Merc use on the pumps anyway (Merc part number -807731T) ...... You'll also need a new belt, but any auto parts shop can supply that...
