Engine runs boat doesn't move???

48hp Johnson spl.Ran it allday yesterday,when it was time to come in, the boat would not move under high rpm.Had to keep it at an idle speed to move.When idling up, the engine just revved higher rpms but would not move.

Sounds like a spun Hub in the prop. Pull the prop off and have a look at the rubber, should be pretty obvious from there.

pulled the prop rubber looks destroyed, is it replaceable?or does the prop have to be replaced?This rubber insert is what grasps the shaft?

a prop shop can put a new hub in. Also a good rule to have a spare prop.

Rubber insert is destroyed.Is this rubber what grasps the shaft to allow the prop to spin?Ca just the rubber be replaced?

No. Take it to a prop shop and have repaired. You'll get new rubber and the part that attaches to the prop shaft splines. I E a new prop hub.

rubber hub is your safety, like a fuse.too much load or your prop hits something it tears and saves your prop shaft and lower unit. they can be repaired depends on manufactor
