Engines have two rotations clockwise and counterclockwise. Yet while looking for a remanufactured engine I noticed some are listed as reverse rotation. What exactly does that mean?

unless you have a really old boat with inboards, you have a left hand rotation motor (standard rotation)

Facing from stern to bow, top of flywheel moves to the left twords bottom. Tag on valve cover identifies this as CC (counter clockwise). I guess that is standard rotation as implied.
