Hello all, new to the website and really enjoy the information I've found on here thus far. I am having problems with my boat I was hoping I could get some wisdom from a more experienced boater. I have an 87 Sea Ray Seville with a 4 cylinder and mercruiser outdrive. I just got the boat this year and have only had it in the water twice so far. The boat seems to be pretty solid. It's starts with no problem and idles pretty good. When it's me and one other person, I can get the boat up to speed pretty well and it will plain off quickly. However, when I try to throttle the boat up past a certain point it will hesitate and make this popping noise. The more people are in the boat, the worse it gets. There were four of us in the boat yesterday and I had a terrible time building any speed because it would begin to hesitate and pop the more I throttled up. I know the previous owner said that he replaced the points and I was thinkng that this could be a timing problem. Any input would be appreciated.
