engine miss

2001 90 h.p. misses coming off idle to about 1800 rpm.thinking about adjusting sync.on carburetor linkage.wondering how difficult this is and if this is heading in right direction.thanks for any replies,

Start with the basics,
Plugs
Compression
Spark
Fuel delivery
Decarb
Go from there.

you need the OEM manual to do the step by step link n sinc. if you miss a step you have to start over from the beginning.

One thing you can do, is make sure the timer base moves forward smoothly without sticking when the throttle is advanced. And make sure the throttle cam hits the roller right on the mark - a tiny bit off can make a big difference. No, that's two things..............
