First off i have a 2002 larson 210 lxi with a 5.0gl volvo penta. The problem just started yesterday. While cruising the boat just stopped( like the engine died) i pulled the throttle back and it was idling just fine. I took off and it ran fine, then a few minutes later it did it again. Overall it did it 4 times yesterday. Now the boat idles great, accelerates normal, cruises fine, and overall just runs great. For some reason though it acts like it just dies while driving, except for it doesn't die. I pull back the throttle( to nuetral or keep it in gear, doesn't matter) and it is idling just fine, no spitting or sputtering or anything like that. I'm not sure what it might be since it doesn't stutter or anything( like a clogged filter).

If anyone has any ideas or has had a problem like this before i would appreciate some guidence on this.

thanks
patrick

Re: Engine loses power while cruising!

I plan on checking the fuel filter. Thought i would get to it tonight but i will have to do it tomorrow. I thought it might be that at first too, it just seems odd that it doesn't seem to cut out or anything, but who knows.

as fas as not pulling the throttle back, i did not try to keep it down, i just pulled back every time. Probably should have left it once to see what would have happened.

if anybody else has any idea's please let me know as i am going to try and tackle this tomorrow after work, so any and all idea's would be appreciated.

thanks
patrick
