Re: Engine ID?

Hello bobbyb1970

Do you know what HP it is?

Right know this is what I dug up.

Cylinders Year Number Range
45HP Elect.Start 4 1981-1989 5531630-B393190

50HP Elect.Start 4 1970-1985 2858814-6586624

75HP 4 1984-1988 6432901-B279480

EDIT:Crap when you said 84 do you mean the boat or the engine is an 1984?

80 - 4 1978-1983 4831999-6432900
One more but its not in the '84 range since I realized my last post.

There are others that fit into the serial range but are much older, like '77 and down. I doubt theres an old motor like that on there , PICS would help big time.

Hit me back, lemme know what ya found.

016.jpgthe boat is an 84 model i was told it was a 75 hp and thanks a million for taking the time to post. that gives me something to go on. I got to rewire the whole engine that helps me get a manuel..at least i only gave 300 for the boat looks like it might get costly.

Re: Engine ID?

Mornin! Based on that serial number you have yourself a 1984 Merc 75HP ELPTO (electric start, power trim, oil injected) 2-Stroke. Congrats on your buy! I hope it works out for you!

So, I took your serial number and plugged it into the search engine on the Crowley Marine website. I've dealt with them before when buying parts and looking for parts diagrams. They have great exploded views of engine systems and they have most of the related parts in stock. You may find them to be a great resource.

At any rate, their parts catalog has its own search engine for locating the right parts for the right motor. I plugged in that you have a 75 Merc with that serial number and this is what it gave me.

They'll have some specifics on which manuals to buy on their site too. I have the SELOC manual for mine. It seems to be pretty good. It's helped me out of a jam or two. :) Here's the manual which should cover your year and make.

Hope all this helps!!
