Engine fixed itself???

88 force 125hp i ran into a sand bar and the engine overheated for about 2 minutes..i shut it off and started running it again well this time i could only get up to 5000rpms..30 minutes later it kicked back into 5600rpms..what could i have done that it corrected itself???

The fouling burned off the plugs and the excess fuel in the crancase was consumed.

You may have gotten some weeds or debris wrapped around the propeller or lower end that eventually came off.

probably had some weeds around the prop like the other guy said , I wouldn't worry about it , if it's back running well, leave it alone , don't fix it if it ain't broke !
