Engine cranks but won't start

My engine is a Volvo-Penta AQ125 (1986?)<br />In the fall I changed plugs, points, cap and rotor and it ran fine. Have always had to use starter fluid to start. How Can I check to see if I'm getting spark?

remove plug and ground against the block while someone else hits the key for a second. you should be able to see the spark.<br /><br />Be sure there are no fuel vapors when doing this
