engine cover rotten

hello I just bought a 1987 searay 23 and the engine cover is rotten, any ideas how to make one and what kind of material should I use ?

Uhmm, several options, Plywood, Aluminum, Foam, Fiberglass. Pretty much whatever you feel comfortable working with.

hi there how thick do you think the plywood should be for the engine cover, will have a seat on top of it I was thinking about 3/4.
