Engine cooling water in tube bigger than gimbal housng tube

Appreciate all the input. After reviewing it the bushing listed way above is the one that seals the tube in the gimbal housing.

Trying to figure out why it's bigger. When I rebuilt the motor I left the power steering heat exchanger all hooked up. So I know it's the hose that came off at that location. I have no idea if it was rigged up by PO with a smaller tube i side and a hose clamp or if I am missing a part.
Look closely in your bilge for a possible hose bushing that may have dislodged. I have owned several Alphas and never seen bushing. However, if my memory serves me correctly, the Bravo hoses and transom hose connection are larger than Alphas. The former owner machined a larger hose connection for transom.

Mine has a bushing. OEM MC-1 to a Mercrusier 233 engine. Transom pipe is 5/8. Engine hose is 1-1/4.

Definitely not in the bilge lol.
The one on the picture above looks like cork? I really need to find a part #.

You need this. A short piece of 5/8 hose into the larger hose.
