Ayuh,.... I buy 'em by the 1/2 dozen,.....
Got 4 or 5 hangin' over my bench, on a nail right now,.....
ok, not to mess things up, and have no problems with having several on hand, but why would you need more then one if everything was checked out prior to install?

I have switched to the Sierra instead of the Quicksilver. I find them more robust. I used to put a few dabs of grease on them to hold in place but found that it softens the material and tears easier. Now I just put them on dry and have much better luck

Cuz I'm getting old and weak. I always find a way to tear them while manhandled the drive on. Need to invest in or build a stand

I always kept a few on hand, because at the end of every season I removed the outdrive for inspection. Let it drain over the winter then added fresh lube and reinstall at the start of the season. Never wanted to be without a new gasket !!

Because you're continuously removing your stupid drive for one reason or another, and you get super pissed if you have the drive ready to go but no gasket. Or so I've been told.
