I always wondered why such an important safety device like the emergency distress beacons were so expensive.
I also thought there were activation or monthly fees. There are no fees!
Now they finally seem to be dropping into a decent range. I'd like to buy two. One for me for the boat and one for my Daughter who does a lot of mountain hiking and canoeing.
One strange design flaw is at least with this 210 it "does not float". They want you to keep it in an air tight pouch. I guess for how cheap they are getting I can just get a pouch at Walmart for each of them.
