Eliminating "below the water line" thru-hull fittings

I am in the process of trying to make a decision on what to do with two holes at the bottom of the stern of my tin boat. Previously there was a livewell aerator pump and presumably what was used as a drain. These functions are no longer needed, and I don't like having two extra holes below the water line if I am not going to be using them.

My first idea is to cut a piece of aluminum to a shape that will cover the two holes, apply epoxy, and rivet on from the outside.

Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks for your help.

The only other way I know of would to be weld patches over them.

Ayuh,.... I can understand eliminating the livewell aerator pump hole, 'n a plug would work...

Its not the drain for the hull, but the drain for the livewell. haha, still need the hull drain!

How would you use a plug?

I am sorry, I assumed that an aerator pump connection was similar on all boats. Still a little new to this!

A washdown pump sounds good for one of the holes....

Well, for anyone following I have decided to install a washdown pump to occupy one of the holes, and the other will be patched with aluminum that has a flange on it for mounting a transducer... kill 2 birds with one stone!
