I have a 1994 4 cylinder Mercury 40 hp engine. It will not fire on two of the cylinders, I have determined it is not the coils, by swaping the ones that are firing with the ones that are not. Do you think that it is in the SWITCHBOX?

Re: Electrical

wich two, if it's 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 its probably a trigger if it's 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 it's probably the stator. too check the stator, change the position of the red and red/white wires and the blue and blue/white wires. if the other 2 clys. fire then it is the stator. if they dont,it could be a switch box.

Thanks Laddiesservice, I will check it out tomorrow. Looks like you are an XNavy man. I retired from the Navy in 1974 as E-7 Air Controlman, kind of miss it every now and then. Good luck and thanks again. BuckD.
