Gettting ready to spray some EasyPoxy over a glass hull and according to the Petit instructions they indicate that you can go over a clean sanded hull. The marine shop recommended that I prime first. Has anyone used the Petit EasyPoxy without priming first and if so were the results good ?

Re: EasyPoxy Without Primer ?

Hi<br /> I rolled and tipped easypoxy on a 14' outboard. I sanded her down to 400 grit and didn't use the primer and the first coat was challenging to say the least. I didn't get good coverage on teh first coat because the substrate was blue and it pulled through and streaked a lot. The second coat was OK but the primner and/or sanding it down only to 320 probably woulda helped the first coat. But by spraying you should be OK. It'll come out beautiful and durable either way.

Not a problem using easypoxy over gelcoat without priming.
